The Wood Farm Commitment
The Wood Farm Commitment sets out those experiences that we think are an essential part of primary school. To draw up our commitment we consulted closely with different parts of our school community, asking 'What do you think every child should have the chance to experience before they finish primary school?'.
We came up with five 'experiences' that we try to guarantee to every child who attends Wood Farm School:
-
Learn to grow and cook healthy food
-
Work with a real artist, musician or writer
-
Stay away from home overnight (for those children who want to)
-
Perform in front of an audience
-
Learn outdoors
We track children's experiences during their time at Wood Farm School, to see if we are meeting the Commitment, and we plan to keep it under review and update it from time to time.
