Saturday 21 March 2026 Red Nose Day We had lots of fun on Friday 20th, joining in with fundraising for Comic Relief. Children and teachers dressed up in red for the day, and had a relaxed end to the week with some games, art and crafts and of course a few jokes!

Thursday 5 March 2026 World Book Day We had a fantastic day on Thursday, celebrating books and reading across the school.

Wednesday 4 March 2026 Holi Celebrations On Wednesday we joined in with celebrations for the festival Holi with a whole school 'Colour Day'. Children and staff across school chose to wear their most bright and vibrant colours in a joint celebration of friendship, joy and the start of spring. In assembly Trisha (Year 6) helped Mrs Shama and Mrs Dhaliwal explain some Holi traditions within the Hindu faith, including painting faces and clothes with bright colours. Then everyone had a fun day with some special craft and art activities - before we all took home a spring flower for friends and family at home.

Wednesday 11 February 2026 Year 2 Oxford Sightseeing Tour! Today, Year 2 took their learning beyond the classroom with an exciting open-top bus tour around Oxford. As part of our Geography project, ‘Castles to Kangaroos', we explored the physical and human features of Oxford and Sydney.

Tuesday 10 February 2026 Year 6 Girls Footballers meet an Oxford United Star! What a wonderful day of all things sport related for some of our year 6 sportswomen today. First off, the year 6 girls took part in a workshop related to resilience run by Rob our OUFC coach. After that we were lucky enough to welcome Jenna Legg - OUFC Women's captain to school. There was an interview and Q&A session afterwards where the girls asked her some really wonderful questions - and got some very important answers: it's Messi not Ronaldo for Jenna! This afternoon a group of Y6 girls went to a football tournament at Oxford High School. It was a fun afternoon and we somehow managed to dodge the rain!

Thursday 25 September 2025 International Festival 2025 On the evening of Thursday 25th September, hundreds gathered in glorious sunshine to enjoy our brilliant International Festival. The playgrounds were crisscrossed with bunting of Union Jacks mingled with flags from around the world – and everyone had a beautiful evening together, described by one parent as a festival which ‘brings the whole world together’.

Wednesday 16 July 2025 Mr Lewin's surprise 20 year Celebration! A deafening shout of “Surprise!” and a fanfare from our school brass band greeted our headteacher David Lewin when he arrived at school on Wednesday. Pupils and staff from the school and nursery gathered for an unforgettable afternoon celebrating his 20 years as headteacher.

Friday 4 July 2025 Summer Fete On Friday we enjoyed our annual school summer fete: the playground was full of different stalls, games and activities - and with the always popular bouncy castle and slide on the field. Thank you to everyone who came along: there was a huge turnout of our school community, enjoying a warm summer evening together.

Thursday 26 June 2025 National Teaching Awards - Silver winner We were delighted to hear that Emma Pallant has been recognised with a Silver Award for Outstanding New Teacher of the Year in this year's Pearson National Teaching Awards. Chosen from thousands of nominees across the country, she will now be in with the chance of winning the highly desired Gold Award, which will be announced at a prestigious awards ceremony in London and on BBC One's The One Show later this year.

Friday 28 March 2025 Year 6 Kilvrough Residential A tired but happy group of Year 6 children arrived back in Oxford today after a fantastic week in South Wales, at Kilvrough Outdoor Education Centre.

Friday 14 March 2025 Year 5 & 6 Tennis coaching Courtside tennis coaching visited our school this week, giving coaching to children in upper key stage 2. Coach Simon was impressed with everyone, and commented on what a great session all had enjoyed.

Tuesday 4 March 2025 Spring Concert The school band, led by Mr Turner and accompanied by Mr Herrington, performed a sparkling spring concert this month - featuring ensemble and solo pieces. They were also joined by the Year 4 choir for several numbers.

Saturday 1 March 2025 Girls' Football Success Miss Holman and Mrs Green took two teams from the Year 5 & 6 Girls squad to take part in the Oxford High invitational competition this term.

Thursday 3 October 2024 International Evening Our whole school community joined together on the 3rd October, for an evening celebrating our international links and diversity - and to learn about the many different cultures represented at Wood Farm School.

Saturday 13 July 2024 Year 4 residential Children in Year 4 classes enjoyed the chance to stay away overnight at Hill End this term. Along with exploring the beautiful countryside at Hill End the children took part in group activities including shelter building, camp fire and tracking.

Thursday 29 February 2024 Kilvrough 2024 - Thursday Our final full day at Kilvrough has been fantastic! This morning for breakfast we enjoyed lots of different cereal and sausage or veggie sausage rolls. We were very pleased to see the sun shining after a wet day yesterday and were feeling excited for our final activity.

Wednesday 28 February 2024 Kilvrough 2024 - Wednesday Today has been a fantastic day for the group at Kilvrough. After a long day yesterday, we all enjoyed a good sleep. Everyone settled really quickly and stayed in their rooms until it was time to get up this morning.

Tuesday 27 February 2024 Kilvrough 2024 - Tuesday We’ve had a very busy day two at Kilvrough! Everyone went to sleep straight away last night and stayed in their rooms this morning until it was time to get up (some children even needed waking up). There was lots to get ready this morning for our first day of activities but we all coped with the new routines really well.

Saturday 27 May 2023 May Festival After a break for a few years during the pandemic, our annual May Festival made a triumphant return in the final week of the spring first half-term. On a beautiful sunny afternoon the children performed traditional dances to a large crowd of visiting friends and families - including of course the dances around the maypole by Year 6.
