Wood Farm Primary School

Year 2 Badgers 2023

Hello everyone,

My name is Miss Key, and if you were in Miss Hazell's class last year you’ll be joining me in the Year 2 Badgers Class in September! I am so looking forward to spending a year with all of you!

I cannot wait to get to know each other and create new memories together next year! Before you join me in Badgers, here are a few facts about me:

I have 3 important roles at Wood Farm Primary School.

  • I am the class teacher of Badgers.
  • I am Head of KS1.
  • I lead Phonics and Reading across the school.

One of my favourite things to do is read. This summer I hope to enjoy some new books, including books from one of my favourite authors, Neil Gaiman.

I adore animals. I don't have any of my own yet, but I enjoy visiting my family and going for long dog walks. My favourite animal is a giraffe because of its individuality, and elegance.

I love the sunny weather in Summer, but I think my favourite season is Winter. I really enjoy the music, decorations and family time at Christmas. If I am lucky enough, I also jump at the chance of being able to go skiing - my favourite sport!

I love to sing! This is something I love to share in class. So, get ready to learn some songs and make music together.

Badgers, you are going to be the oldest children downstairs. Don't worry if you are feeling nervous. One of the things I love the most about my job is making everyday a positive, fun experience. We are going to have such a brilliant year, full of lots of exciting learning and laughs.

As you know, our class mascot is the Badger. Did you know that Badgers are fearless? We will be too. We will face challenges with resilience and positivity - viewing it as an opportunity to learn. Did you know they are also loyal? We will be too. We will look out for one another and overcome things together, as a tribe.

I am so looking forward to having you in Badgers class!

Have a wonderful Summer,

I look forward to seeing you in September.
